The Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accepting applications for a for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor, Term Tenure Track.   This faculty position will be required to conduct original and creative independent research projects preferably, in part with a focus on regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, stem cell biology and translational stem cell applications.  This faculty position will plan, develop, and prepare research projects to further develop and refine the incumbent’s area of expertise and to integrate this expertise with others in the Department of Plastic Surgery.  The candidate will be expected to obtain independent funding to support his/her program and Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) eligibility is preferred.

A successful candidate must have a doctoral level degree in a basic science or related field and have served at least three years at the rank of Assistant Professor or served in a comparable position at any other academic institution or have other equivalent experience. The applicant must have demonstrated considerable ability in independent research with a consistent record of successful peer-reviewed research funding.  The publication record should be continuous, especially over the preceding five years.  Successful incumbents must show evidence of participating in educational or administrative activities.
