Our School's research is focussed on the understanding of human health and disease and how that can be translated into better outcomes for the community. Our strengths include cell and developmental biology, cellular physiology, functional anatomy, molecular pharmacology, and neuroscience.

The role

You will undertake experimental proceedures under the direction of senior members of the Laboratory of Neuroinflammation. Experiments will included cell culture, standard molecular biology techniques, and routine in vivo studies in mice. You will also perform data analysis, as well as assist with preparation of data for publication and grants.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines (eg. Bachelor of Science with Honours degree) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, and demonstrated experience in standard cell culture techniques and basic animal handling and drug dosing in mice, or the willingness to be trained. Applicants will also require excellent written and analytical skills, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term 2 year appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $62,716.31 - $70,241.69 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $73,378.08 - $82,182.77 p.a.).
