With responsibility for all technical functions in the business, this R&D Manager role offers the chance to diversify your experience and take control of Production and Technical Service functions in addition to managing all R&D processes and teams, allowing you to round your expertise and get more variety in your work

As R&D Manager, you will be managing formulations development, new product development projects and line managing the R&D team which consists of 10 people including developers and project managers who will all report directly to you. The role is very hands-on, so you will have to lead the R&D team from the front and develop team members by giving them technical training and demonstration of some formulations techniques which will give youy a sense of satisfaction whilst almost maintaining your in-depth technical expertise.

The company you will be joining develop solvent based corrosion protection coatings systems for metal substrates and they supply into the Architectural, Marine, Construction and Industrial markets with their clients spread across Europe, North Africa and India, so you can expect to have contact with an international client base and attend business meetings abroad on a fairly regular basis. With their headquarters in Zurich, the company have their production, R&D, technical service and sales & marketing teams on-site, ensuring they have very close lines of communication which helps them to maintain short decision making proceses.

Requirements:

• Hands-on formulations knowledge of solvent-based corrosion protection coatings for Metal Substrates
• Training as Lacklaborant or a degree in Chemistry
• At least 6 years experience in R&D
• Line/Disciplinary management experience of at least 5 staff
• Fluent German with a good level of English
