This part-time position is covering for a leave through to June 30, 2017, with the potential for extension. The work schedule will include varying weekday hours, some evenings and weekends.

Reporting to the Theatre Administrator/Events Coordinator, the Box Office Coordinator/Events Assistant manages the Studio Theatre Box Office and assists with all events within the Timms Centre for the Arts including rentals and in-house productions. Duties

  • Provides administrative support for rental events, Studio Theatre productions, Second Playing Space and other productions held in the Timms Centre for the Arts
  • Designs and prepares Studio Theatre ticket stock, gift vouchers and packages  
  • Provides input on Studio Theatre marketing strategies as a member of Studio Theatre’s working group
  • Conducts monthly inventory counts and maintains relevant records
  • Advises supervisor of the need for bar stock, confirms receipt of new stock and completes bar reports
  • Conducts PeopleSoft queries and prepares monthly reports as requested
  • Completes deposits and assists with the reconciliation of deposit books
  • Performs financial reconciliations on Studio Theatre box office and bar revenues
  • Sells tickets and assists with building events in ticketing system
  • Provides training and orientation for and supervises box office and bar staff, front of house managers and volunteers
  • Schedules front of house staff shifts for Studio Theatre and Timms rentals based on information provided by supervisor
  • Maintains the office supplies inventory
  • Provides support as required including maintenance of the Box Office area
  • Performs other related tasks as required


Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered; minimum High School Diploma
  • Relevant experience in a box office/theatre environment
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment with working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel); experience using PeopleSoft and Word Press and InDesign an asset
  • PROSERVE training is mandatory
  • Ability to work independently and function as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Experience with cash handling, basic financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills; accuracy and attention to detail
