UQ Child Health Research Centre

The UQ Child Health Research Centre (UQ-CHRC) is an exciting new research centre at The University of Queensland. The UQ-CHRC is co-located with research centres from Children's Health Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in a recently completed $100M+ research facility adjacent to the new $1.5 Bn Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.

The Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre (QCPRRC) is one of seven research groups within the UQ-CHRC, which incorporates research groups across a range of child health areas, including child development and rehabilitation, burns and trauma, infectious disease, nutrition and growth, respiratory illness and environmental health. The UQ Child Health Research Centre is also a member of a UQ wide virtual research centre comprising over 200 academic staff from multiple UQ Faculties and Research Institutes working on a wide range of issues affecting child health.

The role

The role provides clinical research coordination including administrative and operational support for clinical research projects conducted at the Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre. The role operates with a high level of independence and maintains close working relationships with the Chief Investigators, researchers, clinical and professional staff, research students and the families of children and youth participating in research projects.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications or equivalent training and experience in an allied health, scientific, or nursing discipline and be eligible to work with children. You will have demonstrated experience in research and project management, preferably in a clinical research setting. The successful candidate will have high-level computer proficiency including research databases and surveys and attention to detail with respect to data management. You will be highly organized and possess excellent written and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritise own workload and work independently. You will have demonstrated knowledge in human research ethics procedures, processes and requirements with respect to clinical trials.

 Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years, with the possibility of extension, at HEW Level 6. Part-time appointment would be considered. The remuneration package will be in the range $72,045.70 - $77,635.44 p.a. full-time equivalent, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $84,293.47 - $90,833.46 p.a. full-time equivalent).
