Job Purpose

To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within the NIHR/MoD funded Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiological Research Centre at the University of Birmingham. The work will be focussed on the development of a range of physical science innovations such that they may be used for a host of interventions following traumatic injury.

Person Specification

  • • First degree in a physical science or engineering subject and, a strong interest in multidisciplinary science.
  • • A willingness and ability to learn new skills, work across subject interfaces and work with specialists in other areas of expertise within the SRMRC.
  • • Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • • Fluency in relevant models, techniques or methods and ability to contribute to developing new ones
  • • Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively.
  • Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes
