Job Details
THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION/JOB IS:
To process quotes for purchase requisitions timeously, applying policy and procedures correctly, with budgetary knowledge.
Ø Supplier payments: To effectively administer payments of creditors within specified time and in accordance with financial regulations and statutory provisions, and maintain updated records.
Ø Procurement: To process, load new vendor applications, and manage loading process to completion. Ø Manage staff reimbursement claims, and large consultants’ claims for payroll payments.Ø Engage with creditors /service providers in a professional manner providing regular feedback.
Ø To manage asset purchases and capitalization process including tagging of assets
Ø Finance reports understanding to process journals , reconciliation reports and other monthly reports.
Ø Support to Finance manager with support documentation for reporting. And procedure feedback and suggestions.
COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS)
Ø Strong understanding of the creditor function Ø Excellent reconciliation skills for semi-complex supplier accounts Ø Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. Be able to confidently enforce financial policy and procedures to all levels of staff in the University. Ø Must be able to prioritise work appropriately to recognising relative importance to completing tasks Ø Knowledge of financial procedures and processes and familiarity with the use of ORACLE and Business Intelligence systems Ø Proven experience of recording accounting transactions and maintaining accounting records Ø Proficient working knowledge and experience of using Excel at medium to advanced level Ø Flexible, proactive and willing to continually update own skills and knowledge across Ø Must be a team player, able to work independently and be a self-starter.ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION/S
Ø National Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent
Ø 3 - 5 years relevant working experience
REMUNERATION: A competitive salary package will be offered depending on qualifications and experience.
