We are currently looking for a highly motivated, organized and assertive Field Application Specialist possessing the drive and desire to exceed goals within the Next Gen Sequencing market. The position requires solid working knowledge of current genomic research and clinical techniques with a strong knowledge of the entire Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflow solution. The position will focus on Library Preparation for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), principles behind applications, and the diverse understanding of NGS solutions for clinical, academic, government and industry specific labs. This includes knowledge of DNA/RNA extractions and purifications, automated liquid handling market for NGS library prep, data analysis, overall detailed knowledge of the NGS genomic market and direction of field.

- Exceed sales targets for products and assigned business objectives
- Prospecting, qualifying, and lead generation for new business
- Develop tactical sales plans to maximize revenues
- Work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and customers
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations
- Effective use of seminar and tradeshows as lead generators
- Negotiate contracts and execute pricing strategy to maintain existing and new businesses
- Maintain a strong customer focus through consultative selling
- Enhance customer satisfaction by building trust and strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Daily use of CRM (salesforce.com) database to increase sales effectiveness and forecast accuracy
- Perform daily pre-call planning for increased sales effectiveness
- Recognize market trends and gain competitive intelligence
- Responsible for selling products into academic research, pharmaceutical, biotech and clinical labs
- Work with application scientist team for customer support and product/applications knowledge
