Job Details
Coordinate all Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities and needs of the Faculty
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A Doctoral Degree in any of the programmes offered in (or relevant to) the Faculty of Health & Wellness Sciences
- At least four (4) years' relevant experience in Higher Education
- Experience in work-integrated learning for professional education in health sciences
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
- Coordinate and chair Faculty WIL committee
- Represent Faculty at Senate WIL Committee
- Serve on Faculty Committees e.g. Faculty Research Committee or other
- Serve on external committees related to WIL (e.g. PGWC)
- Curriculum coordination-infusion of workplace learning into all WIL curricula
- Liaison with Programme/Department WIL Representatives, Curriculum Officers, Teaching and Learning Coordinator and workplaces
- Coordinate Community Engagement and Service Learning activities
- Serve as a link between the centre for Community Engagement and Work-integrated Learning and the Faculty
- Liaison with similar units in other Faculties and also with Fundani
- Prepare and manage faculty budget for WIL
- Prepare quarterly and annual report for the implementation of WIL in the faculty for all programmes
- Encourage research and facilitate the development of scholarship for WIL and related areas
- Research on own field of expertise and/or on WIL to boost research activities in the faculty Benchmarking of WIL
- Liaison with regulatory bodies, professional bodies and Government SETA's
- Respond to requests for information on WIL and other related aspects of the teaching and learning environment
- Relate graduate attributes to work placement and other forms of WIL
- Follow up on student success
- Establish relevant forums in the departments and faculty and facilitate the development of a conducive operational and scholarship environment for WIL and community engagement
- Respond to requests for information on WIL
- Gather information and compile reports for faculty and institutional purposes
