Lecturer: Clinical Practice

To coordinate the clinical training in the skills lab and on the clinical training platform and perform other related academic, research and administrative tasks associated with emergency medical care, rescue and related subjects in the Department of Emergency Medical Sciences. This will require liaison with industry, overseeing student placement and supervision of the clinical instructors.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Master’s Degree in Emergency Medical Care or Emergency Medicine
• At least two (2) years' experience lecturing at a higher education institution
• Must be registered with the HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner
• Must have a EC1 drivers license with PDP
• A post-graduate qualification in education with experience in higher education is highly recommended

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Teaching Clinical Practice on the Bachelor Emergency Medical Care and related programmes
• Undertake clinical medical and rescue training and assessments, curriculum and programme development
• Plan, coordinate and supervise academic activities related to Work Integrated Learning and Service Learning
• Manage the clinical resources
• Represent the department on Faculty Work Integrated Learning and Service Learning committees
• Supervise clinical instructors, liaison with industry, oversee student clinical placement
