The University of Sheffield's School of Law is a large and diverse law school with an international reputation for excellence in research, for the expertise of its staff, and the achievements of its graduates. The School was ranked in the top 10 in the UK for research in REF2014. The School's vision is to advance the understanding of law, socio-legal studies and criminology, drawing on its outstanding academic scholarship to deliver inspiring and innovative teaching. The total student body numbers around 1,200 undergraduates and more than 200 postgraduates (including a large community of graduate researchers in the School reading for research degrees). There are more than 70 academic staff in the School.

As Student Employability & Engagement Officer you will make a crucial contribution to the student experience in the School of Law. You will report to the Communications and External Engagement Officer, but this will be a proactive and cross cutting role which will require you to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professional services staff and academic staff. You will deliver an effective service to help improve students’ employability prospects, through engagement with the full range of academic and extra-curricular activities on offer.

You will have 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications/experience), good IT skills and experience of co-ordinating and delivering events. The role requires effective communication skills and excellent customer service skills, in addition to the ability to work independently, prioritise a varied workload and deliver tasks to a high standard of accuracy.
