Research Associate on EPSRC project: S3 - Disease Surveillance for Systems and Structures

A Research Associate is required as part of Professor Keith Worden’s EPSRC Fellowship Grant - S3 – Disease Surveillance for Systems and Structures. The aim of the project as a whole is to provide a unique combination of data collection, processing and visualisation tools combined with database programming to allow the structural health monitoring (SHM) of populations of structures (e.g. wind turbines in a wind farm). The post holder will take a leading role in a programme of research focusing on the development of statistical and machine learning tools for analysis of large data sets stored in intelligent databases. She/he will apply these methods to SHM data sets acquired by others involved in the project and will present results both internally and externally. Knowledge and experience in signal processing will be essential.

The appointed researcher will work in one of the world’s best and largest structural dynamics research groups. The researcher will be supported and actively encouraged to attend conferences and publish in high quality peer reviewed journals.

Applicants should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Engineering/ Computer Science/ Mathematics or a related discipline.
