Salary:  £29,301 to £36,001 Pro rata per annum

Part Time (50%) Fixed Term (1 Year)

Applications are invited for a Teaching Fellow in the Division of Social Statistics and Demography (http://www.southampton.ac.uk/demography

You will be required to give lectures and tutorials in social statistics and/or demography to undergraduate students and to assist with the marking of assignments and examinations.  You will also be expected to engage in advanced study or research.

You will have an MSc in Statistics, Demography or a related discipline, the ability to deliver high-quality teaching in Statistics, including the supervision of BSc and MSc students and organise and manage large undergraduate modules.

The Division of Social Statistics and Demography at Southampton is internationally known for its research in sample surveys, official statistics, statistical modelling, demography and social policy, and takes a strategic role in the development and promotion of the use of quantitative methods in the social sciences. You will be expected to demonstrate expertise in one or more of these areas.

The position tenable from 1 October, or as soon as possible thereafter and is available on a part-time basis.
