Australian Genomics Health Alliance
The Australian Genomics Health Alliance (AGHA) was formed in late 2015 following the award of a $25M grant from NHMRC. The alliance creates a national network of clinicians, pathologists and researchers working towards the development and adoption of genomic medicine into clinical care, both within Australia, and in collaboration with international consortia.
The AGHA will work closely with two state based genomics alliances, specifically the Queensland Genomics Health Alliance (QGHA) and the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance (MGHA). The state based alliances will support the seamless translation of genomics applications and policies to the Australian healthcare system and community. The University of Queensland is the administrative lead for QGHA.
The role
The successful appointee will oversee the policy research component of program 3 (Economic Analysis and Policy Implications for the Health System) for the Australian Genomics Health Alliance. The position will analyse and evaluate Australian and international policies related to the translation of genomics into healthcare, and support the development of innovative programs and initiatives, and provide recommendations to support translation of genomics applications and policies to Australian healthcare system and community. The position will work closely with two state-based genomics alliances, specifically the Queensland Genomics Health Alliance and the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance.
The person
Applicants should possess qualifications, training and extensive experience in relevant disciplines. You should also have a strong background and knowledge in the area of public health policies and research, excellent statistical and analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.
Remuneration
This appointment is full-time, fixed-term for 3 years at HEW Level 9. The remuneration package will be in the range $105,640 - $111,790 p.a, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $123,599 - $130,794 p.a).
