The Future Talent Program features internships that last 10-12 weeks during the months of June-August, 2017. For the 2017 program, students who accept the positions are responsible for housing costs.

The Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS) organization within Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Supply (PSCS) is a multidisciplinary research group that provides drug delivery, solid state and solution chemistry tools in Drug Discovery and Early Development.

Internship positions are available in 2017 in the Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences group based at our Kenilworth, NJ, Boston, MA, and/or West Point, PA sites. During your internship appointment you will work closely with an experienced pharmaceutical industry scientist on a research project with key tasks that include, but not limited to, the following:

- Utilization of a variety of physical and chemical characterization techniques to develop an understanding of the physicochemical characteristics of drugs and associated formulations

Development of small-scale in vitro screening systems to predict formulation performance

Planning and executing research related to the design, development and characterization of novel drug delivery approaches for drug candidates



- Full-time student pursuing a BS, MS or PhD degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, and other relevant disciplines

Returning to school in Fall 2017


- Available for 10-12 week internship beginning June 2017

Working knowledge of physicochemical characterization techniques such as dissolution kinetics and solubility measurements, liquid chromatography (HPLC & UPLC), X-Ray Powder Diffraction and Differential Scanning Calorimetry

Strong personal character and ethics

Superior communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent academic achievement and analytical ability

Good team player and ability to work independently
