Job Details

My client is looking for an Investigation Officer. Due to the nature of govermental related roles, I cannot state too much information.

Essential experience:

- Interview trained
- Prison interview experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid Passport
- PST Level 2
- Willing to attend and pass Personal Safety Training
- Willing to travel abroad (Travel insurance will be reimbursed)
- Intelligence investigations (RIPA, CPIA)
- Excellent Communication skills (Written and verbal)

Desirable experience:

- PIP 1
- Speaking other languages is desirable
- Knowledge of Immigration Crime investigations
- Knowledge of Immigration procedures
- Knowledge of Source handling/recruitment
- Understanding of Modern Day Slavery and the NRM
- Knowledge of world affairs and matters relating to Counter Terrorism

· Security Clearance Level Required: SC - Security Check

What you will do:


* Conduct in depth interviews with irregular migrants on or as soon as possible after arrival at:-

* Generate and disseminate Intelligence Reports ensuring compliance with legislation, accuracy and that Intelligence is sanitised correctly to maintain duty of care

* Provide intelligence on the methods used to gain entry to the UK by those abusing the immigration laws, as well as individuals and organised crime gangs perpetrating organised immigration crime and/or involved in the trafficking of human beings

* Comply with the National Intelligence Model, all relevant legislation and Manual of Standards

* Give evidence in court when required

* Prioritise workload in line with current taskings and identified intelligence gaps

* Maintain an awareness of current intelligence requirements, use initiative and sound judgement to self task fulfilling generic or specific intelligence gaps

* Conduct thorough intelligence interviews, clarifying information gathered and challenging inconsistencies

* Be aware of safeguarding, the identifiers which are used to recognise potential victims of trafficking and how the National Referral Mechanism works

* Recognise offences, offenders and refer as appropriate,

* Recognise and take advantage of evidential opportunities when presented

* Identify potential covert human intelligence sources and make referrals where appropriate

* Ensure internal (including operational, casework and policy) and external partner engagement is effective, taking every opportunity to develop both new and existing relationships to improve the quality of referrals
