Job Details

The University is seeking a Centre Assistant to help provide an excellent day-to-day operation of the University of Bristol’s Indoor Sports Centre and Coombe Dingle Sports Complex. As part of the role the Centre Assistant ensure the efficient, effective and safe utilisation of facilities and deliver an excellent customer experience for students, staff and external customers.

The Centre Assistant will alternate between both facilities within the rota so a flexible approach, an outgoing personality, and a good understanding of sport and leisure operations will be paramount as they will play a crucial part in delivering the University’s key priorities.

The University recognises sport as a distinctive part of campus life and student experience, and an important vehicle for personal development and for extending its wider community engagement. It recently reviewed its strategic priorities and identified the following four areas as priorities (in order of importance):
  • Increasing student participation levels in sport and healthy activities.
  • Improving performance in student sporting competition through the continued development of an elite sport environment.
  • Provide staff with opportunities to access sporting facilities or undertake healthy activities
  • External and community usage of facilities.

This new post is a unique opportunity for an ambitious sports industry professional to help shape the next game-changing phase of sport and physical activity development at the University of Bristol.

The Post is a 16.88 hours per week post with the following rota:

Week 1
Wednesday 12:15 – 17:15
Friday 06:45 - 15:00
Saturday 07:45 – 14:15

Week 2
Wednesday 12:15 – 17:15
Friday 07:00 – 15:00
Saturday 08:00 – 14:30
