The position requires technical and analytical skills, including SAS or R programming.

The Intern will apply data mining algorithms/visualizations to large databases in order to identify actionable business insights that will support marketing and sales activities.

Projects may be product-specific or focused on issues spanning multiple products.

At the conclusion of the term, the Intern will share results and recommended actions as a final project presentation.

This is a paid internship targeted to start in May/June 2017 for 10-12 weeks.



- Required: Be currently pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.

- Strong candidates in undergraduate programs will also be considered.

- Have completed at least two semesters of graduate study or four semesters of undergraduate study by May 31, 2017.

- Be returning to school in Fall, 2017.

Required Experience:

- Have proficiency in data wrangling and SQL

- Have a thorough understanding of data mining algorithms and extensive experience applying techniques to large data sets using R or SAS

- Have experience using Tableau or Spotfire to visualize large data sets

- Have a demonstrated ability to transform data into insight for making better decisions

- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 2 years prior work experience

Prior experience using Python
