Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training Partnership (M3C DTP) is an AHRC-funded collaboration between the University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, De Montfort University, University of Leicester, Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham. The M3C DTP provides combined research expertise for the professional and personal development of the next generation of arts and humanities doctoral researchers. It delivers excellence in all aspects of research supervision and training and provides access to a wide range of facilities, cohort events and placement opportunities with regional, national and international creative industry partners.

Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training Partnership is awarding up to 87 PhD Arts and Humanities studentships for UK/EU applicants for 2017 entry.

You will benefit from:

  • Membership of a world-leading research environment
  • High quality supervision teams (with the potential for cross-institutional supervision and the inclusion of professionals from the creative industries)
  • Interdisciplinary and collaborative research opportunities
  • Placements and other professional development activities
  • Engagement with professions and communities who use your research

How to apply for funding:

In order to be considered for funding, you need to be a UK/EU applicant who meets the eligibility criteria as detailed by the AHRC and in M3C DTP guidelines. You must also have applied for a place to study at one of the six M3C DTP universities and have provided two academic references as part of the application procedure.

The deadline for applications for an AHRC-funded M3C studentship for 2017 entry is 16 January 2017 (midnight).
