Psychology, within the School of Social and Human Sciences, are seeking to hire Research Administrative Assistants for a part-time role based in London (specifically Lambeth). This role could be of interest to those with research assistant, research administrative or research psychologist experience, particularly those who may wish to pursue a career in psychology.
The successful candidates will administer questionnaires and collect data from homeless service users and at three homelessness hostels across the area. The primarily responsibilities within the role are:
- Administer questionnaires, collect data from homeless service users and peer support volunteers at several homelessness hostels (under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist).
- Plan and organise data collection ahead of the work (liaising with colleagues within the University of Southampton to ensure you have necessary materials available to you).
- Liaise with hostel staff to organise when and who you plan to see and ensure suitable areas are available to conduct the survey.
The aim of the research is to evaluate Psychologically Informed Environments in homelessness, in several hostels across Lambeth and whether Psychologically Informed Environments improve the service users psychosocial outcomes. Asessed via a range of clinical scales and questionnaires which the post holder will be administering. In addition the research aims to measure the impact of psychologically Informed Environments on hostel staff burnout and job satisfaction over time, through the administration of questionnaires.
The role is part time with hours expected to be between 3 and 3.5 hours per week, the role offers flexibility on these hours of work.
You will need to have strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise your own workload and follow procedures to ensure the required high standard of work is achieved. You must have experience of data gathering, input and analysis along with a relevant degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification or experience.
