We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced post-doctoral researcher in the field of electronic and photonic device fabrication to take up a role within the EPSRC funded project: Electronic-Photonic Convergence. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team of researchers working in the area of Group IV photonics and electronics, based within the state-of-the-art Zepler Institute Cleanroom Facilities (http://www.zeplerinstitute.com/facilities) at the University of Southampton, UK.
The applicant must have a strong background in silicon fabrication technology within a cleanroom environment. The applicant must also have a background in the characterisation of photonic and electronic devices, with an aptitude for critical evaluation and interpretation of experimental data. Experience in using device modelling suites such as Silvaco, RSoft and Lumerical would be highly desirable. It is also expected that candidate will need to demonstrate:

An awarded PhD* or equivalent qualification or experience related to semiconductor physics and device engineering
Ability to work independently and a good team work attribute
A willingness and ability to assist with the supervision of postgraduate students
Excellent communication and organisational skills and proven track record in journal publications and conference presentations
This post is full-time fixed term up to 3 years duration.
*Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
