Tax Expert, Expanding Finance Department, Basel

I currently have an opportunity as Tax Expert to join a growing Finance department which has recently hired 2 new staff and is due to take on 4 new people over the next 6 months, so you will be part of a growing team which will present opportunities to develop in seniority in the future.

My client are an international chemicals company that specialise in the development and manufacture of products for the leather industry. With over 1000 employees worldwide, turnover of over €500m per year and over 20 years in operation, they are a very stable company with a well established presence in the market, ensuring their employee feel secure and safe in the business.

Your role as Tax Expert will be to maintain compliance with tax laws in Germany and Switzerland, co-operate with local government offices, develop and file tax reports and ensure all VAT and tax related queries in the finance department are dealt with. Working under the new Head of Finance, Accounting and Tax who has over 20 years of experience, it's a great opportunity to learn from a consummate professional who can help you to broaden and develop your financial knowledge.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years industry experience in Finance focused on Tax
• Good knowledge of HGB, German GAAP and VAT
• Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred
• Fluent German and a good level of English speaking
