An exciting opportunity has become available for a Service Manager to join our Learning and Teaching Innovation Services team at the University of Auckland.

Learning and Teaching Innovation Services is part of IT Services at the University of Auckland which has 1 mission: to provide effective IT Services that enhance the reputation of the University of Auckland through innovation and collaboration.

IT Services is responsible for the delivery of the central applications and infrastructure to support University's core fuctions of teaching, learning and research together with enhancing the student experience.

Reporting to the Asssociate Director, Academic support, the Service Manager s core responsibility is to lead a team in the prioritisation, development and support of applications within a service portfolio.

The role engages with the business and product owners of these applications and with project managers, managing problem resolution, eliminating delivery roadblocks and actively develop the systems and services that support the relevnt University function.

The successful candidate will be the main point of engagement for the service portfolio and will also assist stakeholders external to IT Services to achieve their strategic and operational outcomes.

The Service Manager will be a champion for an AGILE inspired service culture within IT Services bulding and leading a team that truly demonstrates mission, vision and values to deliver excellence towards the division's key accountabilities.

  • Ideally you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in IT or related subject coupled with experience working in a large organisation, and the ability to work to tight deadlines when required. 
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Service Delivery, demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and experience in AGILE delivery methodologies. 
  • High levels of customer service, attention to detail, as well as a continuous improvement focus will be strongly considered.
