Job Details

Purpose
The Senior Systems Administrator assists the Lead Systems Administrator with installing, configuring, upgrading, administering, monitoring and maintaining the diverse set of server operating system software and hardware, and applications that form part of the University’s central IT operations.
Requirements
An appropriate bachelor’s degree with approximately six years relevant experience
Relevant experience should include:-
- At least three years in an environment with a network of similar complexity/scale to Rhodes (e.g. an ISP with a large number of customers, or a large corporate or school network);
- Quantifiable involvement over a number of years in an open-source, community networking or similar project;
- Formal certification (particularly at a higher level) in any of the operating systems, network infrastructure, etc we use;
- Clear evidence of professional development in this field;
