You are invited to apply for the post of Faculty Administrative Officer based at Southampton General Hospital.
This post falls within the Faculty Operating Service (FOS), Medicine. The FOS is a professional service to the University led by the Heads of Faculty Operations (HoFOs). The service works with Faculty Deaneries and Senior Leadership Teams to support those areas of work which provide essential services to the Faculty core business and underpins the achievement of the strategic objectives of the University.
As Faculty Administrative Officer you will provide comprehensive administrative and PA support to senior academic staff within Human Development and Health (HDH) – one of five Academic Units within the Faculty of Medicine.
You will apply a good working understanding of administrative systems to answer queries and resolve a range of problems from colleagues and external customers. You will be expected to contribute to the customer services support of the front line reception service providing cover when necessary as well as assist the Faculty Executive Officer with the delivery of Academic Unit and Faculty tasks or projects where necessary.
You must have previous experience within an administrative role and be able to work independently, to manage workload and meet tight deadlines, and work as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role and awareness of University processes and regulations would be an advantage.
