Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)

The University of Newcastle is embarking on an ambitious agenda to transform its academic and educational endeavours, and is looking for an experienced, dynamic and innovative individual to join its executive leadership team and to shape the future of teaching and learning across an institution that is reinventing the ways it supports and delivers education. This role represents a unique opportunity to bring an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to the education agenda of an institution that is already recognised for its approach to teaching and learning, and is ready to embark on a journey of further transformation. 

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) will provide the strategic leadership and inspiration to energise staff to support this transformation. This opportunity requires the skills and experience to ensure sustainable financial outcomes and high quality student outcomes whilst also ensuring that quality assurance and the University’s commitment to equity and access is maintained. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) will represent the University on both a national and international stage therefore should demonstrate a strong understanding of the major issues impacting higher education in Australia and globally. The successful candidate will not only bring the experience to navigate the institution through these issues, but the ability to position the institution as a leader in education and academic innovation and build a platform for further development in this space into the future.

5 year fixed term contract.
