Job Details

We are looking for a talented and driven front-end developer to join our Client in Bournemouth

The role of the Content Developer is to assist the Content Development Team in the production of high quality, creative and robust eLearning solutions. Content Developers are expected to have a high degree of HTML and CSS knowledge, but more importantly a very thorough grasp of building dynamic content with JavaScript.

Responsibilities:
* Assume the role of a lead developer in e projects, where assigned
* Ensure development work meets project/client requirements
* Undertake maintenance of existing content
* Undertake development and maintenance of the companies base development libraries
* Keep fully up to speed with technical trends in web/eLearning technology. Be well versed in web/eLearning standards such as HTML5, CSS, SASS, JavaScript (jQuery specifically), web accessibility, responsive design
* Work to implement common eLearning standards, such as AICC and SCORM
* Contribute to the future direction of eLearning production, providing inspiration for innovative solutions and treatments to meet the needs of future projects/clients
* Plan and prioritise own workload in accordance with the overall published programme of work
* Provide accurate feedback on all allocated work packets, on completion, via the relevant documentation (time spent, scripting changes required, development issues)
* Using a thorough understanding of JSON and JavaScript data formats, review and format interactive eLearning scripts to ensure compatibility with current development templates/methods.
* Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and willingness to work with instructional designers, graphic designers, other developers and testers as part of a team
* Work closely with testers to ensure high quality of production work and ensure quality of work produced meets project requirements
* Provide a proactive approach to problem solving and where necessary suggest improvements to the existing development

Skills and Competencies
Essential:
* High level of knowledge of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
* Excellent understanding of courseware delivery methods and learning management systems
* Ability to properly document development work
* A great attitude towards learning and adapting to new practices.

Desirable:
* Good knowledge of Adobe Flash, ActionScript 2/3
* Understanding of eLearning standards, AICC and SCORM
