We are seeking someone who is organised, a great communicator, numerate and with excellent attention to detail to join our dynamic organisation – the Leeds Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit (LMBRU). The successful postholder will have a high level of administration and office management experience ideally in the NHS or higher education sector. You will be able to demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills with an ability to identify and implement solutions to challenges. The postholder will be actively encouraged to identify and drive continuous improvement. You will be able to prioritise your own workload whilst working under pressure and to deadlines.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark – working with a small but experienced team that is committed to seeking new, creative and better ways to deliver the operational function of LMBRU. The postholder will report to the Director of Operations and will be a key member of a busy operations team.

The Business / Operations manager will provide business management and operational support to the LMBRU. They will have overall responsibility for establishing and managing a comprehensive administrative support function and will ensure that the day to day operations of LMBRU are managed efficiently and effectively. This is a varied and challenging role which includes support with human resources, finances, management of facilities and Executive Assistant support.

LMBRU is a partnership collaboration between Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Leeds, with the aim of being a world leading centre for translational research into individually targeted, patient focussed therapies across musculoskeletal diseases. LMBRU has been funded by NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) since 2008. We have recently been successful in obtaining funding to become an NIHR Biomedical Research Centre from April 2017 – March 2022. The role is fixed term to reflect the funding period.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 3rd November 2016.
