Salary:  £23,879 to £28,452 Pro rata, per annum

Part Time (0.6 FTE), Fixed Term (5 Months)

The University of Southampton is home to the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC). NETSCC manages evaluation research programmes and other research on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Communications Manager to join the team which manages communications support for a number of research programmes managed by NETSCC as well as cross-cutting research management functions and contributions to NIHR communications. This is a full-time post on a fixed term to the end of March 2017.

The post would suit someone who is naturally well organised, enjoys working as part of a busy and varied team, has a flexible approach to work and is able to demonstrate initiative. You should be qualified to at least A Level (or equivalent) and have excellent written and oral communication skills, a creative and innovative approach to work, and the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues of all levels across NETSCC and external stakeholders. You will have experience of working in a communications or marketing role, ideally with knowledge of specialist software packages. Typical duties of the post can be found in the job description. Strong team-working skills are essential and you will join an enthusiastic and supportive team.
