The Wessex Institute is part of the University of Southampton.  Handling contracts including the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) we manage and maximise the impact of ground-breaking medical research programmes, influencing the future of healthcare delivery across the UK and medicine worldwide.

Two vacancies have arisen in the NIHR Journals Library editorial office which manages reports describing the findings of research funded by the NIHR through the editorial processes leading to publication in the NIHR Journals Library (http://www.journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/). Good knowledge of STM publishing and scholarly articles is essential, as are an analytical mind, exceptional communication and writing skills and a high standard of written English.

You will have a proven track record of success in a relevant editorial or publishing role, or similar transferrable experience, ideally with experience of using a web content management system.  In addition, you will be proficient in building and maintaining strong working relationships, for example with authors, editors and reviewers.  You will be educated to at least degree level or equivalent with excellent organisational and administrative skills, be IT literate and already have responsibility for managing discrete areas of work or projects.  Strong team-working skills are essential.
