The role

The appointee/s will work in close collaboration with a team of computer scientists on projects related to high performance distributed and parallel supercomputers.  They will assist the chief investigator, Professor David Abramson, in the design and implementation of new software systems, tools and techniques, with a specific focus on technologies developed by Cray Inc.  In close collaboration with the team and under the direction of the Chief Investigator you are expected to participate in planning and executing research as well as assessing outcomes and generating reports.

The person

The successful applicant/s will have an undergraduate degree and a PhD (or equivalent) in computer science or a closely related field.  Demonstrated expert knowledge in high performance computing, supercomputing, distributed computing and software tools are essential; as is knowledge of, and experience with, the Cray software environment.  You will also have a track record of publication of original research in reputed peer reviewed  journals.  Furthermore the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and software developers is essential.

Remuneration

There are up to three full-time, fixed term (2 years) positions available at Academic Research Level B. The remuneration package for Academic Research Level B will be in the range $89,459 - $106,232 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $104,667 - $124,291 per annum.).
