Job Details

The Student Marketing Office is responsible for managing and coordinating the University’s promotional and marketing activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in respect of its annual intake of approximately 7,000 students. It is looking to appoint a Publications Officer to lead on student recruitment marketing activities to raise awareness of the University of Bristol to prospective students worldwide, and to convert the highest calibre applicants.

Working in the Publications Team, the successful applicant will lead on key projects for student recruitment marketing activities across print, web and social media. The post-holder will manage the development of publicity materials for undergraduate, postgraduate and international audiences. This could include activities such as producing materials for student recruitment fairs in the UK and overseas. The role will include writing and editing copy for print and digital publications, as well as leading on the development of our social media channels, all of which aim to raise awareness of the University of Bristol, encourage applications and conversion of offer-holders. The Publications Officer will act as deputy for the Publications Manager and also line manage the Assistant Publications Officer.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of print and design, and managing the process of producing publications from inception to completion. They will have good editorial and proof reading skills and the ability to tailor writing style to the needs of particular markets. The post-holder will also have an understanding of design for exhibition displays. They will be required to work on multiple projects running concurrently, therefore planning and organisational skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on complex issues with a variety of stakeholders.

As a Publications Officer, you will be a key driver in helping the University achieve its ambitious recruitment targets.
