The IT Strategy, Policy, and Planning Directorate is responsible for strategic IT leadership across the University, to develop the University IT Strategy, and to actively support the implementation of the strategy. This incorporates coordination of and engagement with the University community on strategic IT requirements, contributing to increasing the effectiveness of the IT function across the University

A Solutions Architect is sought to provide technical leadership, problem-solving, and solution-design services to strategic projects and to the University at large.  This fixed-term role reports into the Enterprise Architecture team, and works closely with technology stakeholders and business partners throughout the University.

To be successful in the role requires significant communication and relationship-building skills that complement strong architecture skills, experience with integration patterns and APIs, and a disciplined approach to problem-solving.

This is an exciting, challenging position involved directly in enabling the digital transformation of New Zealand’s largest research organisation and highest-ranked university.  The Solutions Architect will be exposed to a wide range of projects and other initiatives, and will be contributing to the establishment and improvement of architecture patterns at scale in the country’s second-largest IT organisation.
