The Director, HR Business Operations is an integral part of the Human Resources function who will work closely with the global HR team to ensure efficient and scalable HR operations. The Director, Human Resources Business Operations role is responsible for building and managing the HR business operations global model and related policies, systems and processes. If it involves HR transactions, process, policy or compliance, this role will ensure process optimization, quality delivery and alignment with business needs. This role directly manages PerkinElmer's corporate HRIM and US HR shared services team, and deploys processes outside the US through the global HR team.

Responsibilities:
  • Bring your vision and passion for systems and processes to transform the way HR services are delivered to the organization.Help drive the selection, implementation and upgrade of all people systems and processes to ensure we are maximizing our use of technology in streamlining people operations and scaling with the growth of our business. Play a leadership role in the architecting and implementation of employee and manager self-service, leading to greater business access to employee information and reducing HR time spent on transactional activity.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Management & Workforce Analytics function on the creation and delivery of people-related reports and information to the business.
  • Oversee the members and activities of the US HR Shared Services team, which provides first-line HR support to employees in the US.
    • Establish training that ensures each team member is equipped to answer or re-direct employee questions across a range of HR disciplines including but not limited to HR policies, benefits, and leaves of absence. Promote continuous development through leadership, guidance and education.
    • Ensure the production and delivery of offer letters and on-boarding is accurate, timely, and creates a positive employee experience.Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to create an outstanding on-boarding program.
    • Establish sound processes for maintaining employee information in the HR system and oversee the consistent application of those processes.
    • Oversee the quality delivery of all HR shared services including exit processing/interviews, production of select HR reports, basic leave of absence administration, and other similar services.
  • Responsible for HR policy governance, working cross-functionally to establish and maintain up-to-date US and corporate HR policies, and providing a governance framework for HR policies in countries outside the US.
  • Establish an updated framework for HR due diligence and integration for business acquisitions and divestitures.Project-manage HR integration for US acquisitions.
  • Working closely with the Talent Management function, manage the Affirmative Action plan, including relationships with external Affirmative Action plan service providers.
  • Serve as the primary HR leader responsible for general HR compliance and reporting. Responsibilities include updates on HR compliance matters at a corporate level, the provision of information needed for governmental compliance reports (EEO/VETS, etc.) and matters related to employee information data privacy.Establish a framework for basic HR compliance at US work sites, including records retention.
  • For all major HR operational processes, work with the global team to define streamlined processes that are automated wherever possible.Define approval processes and ensure users are trained to employ the processes.
  • Work with other members of the HR team (including Talent Acquisition, HR business partners and Learning & Development) to support HR programs through development of sound processes and automation wherever possible.
