Job Details

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated researcher to work within the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) on a number of cross-disciplinary projects that require analyses of spatial data. The project themes are diverse and include monitoring forest ecosystems, Open Research Coding Scrums, crowd sourced data analyses of landscape and big data evaluations of infrastructure. They have the need for spatial data analyses and geo-computational methods in common.

This post provides the opportunity for you to develop high quality, relevant research outputs, with a high policy relevancy, new methods for analysing the many new forms of data and to lead publications and funding proposals. You will be exposed to the many research activities within LIDA and the School of Geography and will be given the room to develop and grow collaborative research of your own.

You will be expected to contribute to academic articles and reports related to the project and will demonstrate their ability to write scholarly articles for peer-reviewed. Excellent communications skills are essential in order to work in the multidisciplinary research environment.

You will have a PhD (or have equivalent programming experience in industry or the public sector or be close to obtaining a PhD) in Computer Science or a related discipline such as; Social Science, Engineering, Mathematics or quantitative Transport Studies or Geography.
