Job Details
- Applications are specially invited to teach in the field of Afrikaans (First Language) and the Methodology of Afrikaans (First Language) in the field of education (Departments of B.Ed SP and FET Teaching, B.Ed IP Teaching and B.Ed FP Teaching on the Wellington Campus).
- Please Note: The Teacher Education programme at our Wellington Campus is taught in Afrikaans. Except for lecturers who teach languages other than Afrikaans, lecturers need to be able to teach/lecture in Afrikaans
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A Masters degree relevant to a combination of Afrikaans (First Language) and the Methodology of Afrikaans (First Language)
- A teaching qualification relevant to the teaching of Afrikaans (First Language) and the Methodology of Afrikaans (First Language)
- At least two (2) years' relevant teaching experience at tertiary level or five (5) years' relevant teaching experience in the FET and/or GET Phases at school level
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans (B.Ed tuition in Wellington is through Afrikaans)
Recommendations:
- A relevant Doctoral degree
- Exposure to academic teaching methodology on a tertiary level
- Evidence of competence in research
- Access to a car to visit schools during Teaching Practice and a valid driving licence
