Applications are invited for a position as a Specialist Technical Officer or Experimental Officer (Research) to work on a project supported by a BBSRC Business Innovation Voucher (BIV) funded through the Anaerobic Digestion Network (ADNet, www.anaerobicdigestionnet.com). The project aims to evaluate the feasibility of fish waste co-digestion with MSW and is being carried out in conjunction with the Creed Park anaerobic digestion Plant in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.

You will have demonstrated experience in similar types of laboratory-scale experimental work. In addition, you will have the ability to construct or modify and set up experimental equipment including appropriate monitoring systems; to operate and monitor anaerobic digestion trials; to carry out relevant laboratory analyses; to collect and handle data and to offer assistance in interpretation of results. A hands-on approach and excellent practical skills are required, along with a keen interest in developing anaerobic digestion and environmental biotechnology concepts from laboratory to full-scale implementation.
