Job Details
Key Performance Areas:
- Manage all infrastructure repairs, maintenance and modifications to the Mathematical Sciences buildings and Data Centers.
- Manage ICT Infrastructure, including physical space, electricity, cooling, access policies, and UPS.
- Manage projects to anticipate and meet future needs related to electrical distribution, UPS, fire suppressions, procedural security, physical security, cooling, monitoring, networking and cabling.
- Anticipate Data Centre requirements for computational research projects and develop project briefs.
- Manage regular outreach activities to showcase Mathematical Sciences projects and to expose students to active areas of research.
Key Competencies:
- Solid ICT Data Centre and infrastructure knowledge.
- Meticulous about documentation and commitment to refining ICT infrastructure management and operational processes.
- The ability to initiate and complete Data Centre, software, hardware, and training projects.
- An ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues and resolve them.
- A demonstrable history of being a self-starter.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
- An ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrable project and team management skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a certified Data Centre Professional certificate or a certified Data Centre Specialist certificate.
- Three years’ infrastructure management experience.
- Work experience in a research intensive tertiary education environment or the ICT sector will be an advantage.
