We have a great opportunity for a HR Services Consultant to join our dedicated and newly created HR Services team in a transitional support role in a fixed term 12 month appointment. 

Human Resources provides a diverse range of services, programmes and advice through a number of key strategic functions, across the Service Divisions and Faculties within the University.

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading University. It employs over 5400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students making us one of NZ’s largest employers. Reporting to the HR Services Manager, this newly created position will provide efficient and effective transactional HR Services support to the assigned faculty/service division portfolio.  With a collaborative and engaging working style, you will develop partnerships with a diverse business group within HR, providing a high level of customer service to meet their requirements in a highly driven environment. 

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in a HR related discipline and/or can demonstrate a minimum of 1-2 year’s experience working in an administrative HR role within a large complex organisation. Knowledge of a wide range of policies, systems and processes to support staff and managers would be an advantage. 

Additionally you will be proficient in the MS Suite of packages and experienced in the use of a range of systems e.g. PeopleSoft/SAP.

Initiative and resilience, coupled with attention to detail and strong organisational skills will also be essential for this role. The ideal canidate will possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills; excellent time management and an ability to work autonomously. This role will require a flexible and proactive approach.

This is a Professional Level 4 role
