As one of the country’s leading art schools, Winchester School of Art is part of the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university and one of the UK’s top research-led universities. We have a well-established and successful transnational educational collaboration in Dalian, China. We offer four-year undergraduate programmes in Fashion Design and Graphic Design with routes for progression into associated programmes at Winchester School of Art. This new role would be to join a growing team of academic staff and support staff that are currently teaching students at our joint campus with partner institute Dalian Polytechnic University.

As Associate Director of Programmes you will be coordinating and directing the day to day running of our two undergraduate programmes in Graphic Design and Fashion Design working closely under the Director of Programmes in Dalian. You will be joining to lead a highly motivated and international team of academics while contributing part of your time to supporting the teaching across the subjects of fashion or graphic design. You will have extensive experience of teaching at Higher Education level, of student learning, enhancement and familiarity with managing UK quality standards. 

We are looking for a candidate with line management and organisational experience who is able to lead a large and diverse student body and to work with an International group of teaching staff with the assistance of bilingual Teaching Assistants. The role requires excellent communication skills and an understanding of and ability to deliver teaching strategies that support and develops our transnational teaching agenda and collaborative partnership with management of the International School at Dalian Polytechnic University.

Whilst in China you will be provided with free on-campus accommodation, travel insurance cover, a basic medical insurance cover, and two return flights home per academic year (following a Chinese academic year) during your employment.
