School of Agriculture and Food Sciences

The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences is one of the largest agricultural schools in Australia, comprising research and teaching experts in agribusiness, animals and wildlife, environment, plants and soil, and food and nutrition. The School offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and research degrees encompassing those disciplines ranging from Bachelor to Doctorate. The role

The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching and research activities in the field of Soil Chemistry in the School and the University. They will work with the Head of School and the other members of the soil science group to develop and implement the School's strategic plan, and to integrate the teaching and research programs in Soil Science. Located at UQ St Lucia campus, the appointee will be responsible for teaching and program development; and will be expected to contribute to the national and international research profile of the School, supervise research students, obtain external grant funding and undertake professional activities.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in soil chemistry or a related field, and have post-doctoral experience in soil chemistry. Applicants will also need to demonstrate strong research skills and the ability to provide effective supervision of research students.

Remuneration

This is a full-time fixed term appointment for 4 years at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $89,458.97 - $106,232.23 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $104,666.99 - $124,291.71 p.a.).
