Professor of Geo-Health

The Professor will have a leading role in initiating, coordinating and executing novel scientific methods and approaches in Geo-Health. The new chair is expected to bring in the necessary bio-medical expertise and link this effectively to spatio-temporal techniques and the latest developments in big data and data science. In addition to world-leading research activity the Professor will be responsible, alongside the other Professors and the Chair of department, for management of the Department. The appointee will play an active role in the teaching and supervision of MSc and PhD students and initialize and lead capacity development projects in ITC’s target countries.

The appointee will hold a PhD in a related field such as spatial epidemiology, health geography, or health sciences with specific attention for Global south diseases and have proven skills in spatial disease modelling. He/she will have a recognized international position demonstrated by a record of highly cited publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals and an outstanding reputation. He/she will have a clear vision on the role and development of the geo-health domain. An affinity with the education, training and capacity development related mission of ITC is a pre-requisite.
