Technical Officer (Technical Support) - Three-year contract

Duties:

  • Conducting research on the microbial production of lipids en genetic engineering of wild non-Saccharomyces yeast strains;
  • Conducting other ad hoc contract research under supervision; 
  • Providing technical support for the training of Honours students;
  • Providing ad hoc tecnical support to Masters and Doctoral students.

Requirements:

  • An MSc degree in Microbiology;
  • A strong background in microbial molecular biology;
  • Previous experience of cloning and genetic manipulation of wild non-Saccharomyces yeast strains;
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office's Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Recommendation:

  • Experience in the production of biofuels from renewable sources;
  • Good communication skills (report writing and presentation of results);
  • Prior experience in the training of students.
