Job Details
The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) of the Swiss TPH conducts consultancy, project management, training and applied research work in international health. We are seeking for the position of project manager in Tajikistan from April 2017 onwards.
Within a health reform project in Tajikistan funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), your tasks will include:
- To assure managerial and technical project planning and implementation
- To provide technical support to Tajik MoH in the area of health reform, health service management, family medicine, and community participation
- To co-ordinate project related activities and closely liaise with other multi- and bilateral agencies as well as NGOs.
- To oversee a local team of 15 employees
The long-term assignment as project manager will be based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. To best fit into our active, interdisciplinary team we expect the following qualifications:
- Formal qualification in health policy, health economics, health service management, medicine, epidemiology or a health related field (Master degree level). A postgraduate training in public health or a MBA is an asset.
- Minimum of 8 years' working experience in the field of public health and health reform in developing or transition countries in at least one of the following fields: health system monitoring and evaluation, health financing, health planning and management, community health and health promotion, primary health care
- Strong previous management experience and ability to work in a team
- Ability to communicate with high level policy makers and international partners
- Excellent command of English and Russian
An initial contract of two years will be offered. An extension is desirable, depending on a performance evaluation.
We are looking to have the successful candidate for 1 April 2017 for the start of the next project Phase.
