Project Manager - Southampton University Assessment and Student Records Transformation (STARS) Programme

The University of Southampton is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Southampton University Assessment and Student Records Transformation (STARS) Programme team. The aim of the project is to provide student and academic administrative services which are fit for purpose, support the efficient working of academic and professional services staff and provide an excellent student experience. This includes both introducing new systems and services and modernising and streamlining the use of the University’s main student management system, Banner, and harmonising processes.

The Project Manager will report directly to the Programme Manager and will work closely with colleagues from iSolutions, the University’s IT Service, and other teams within Student and Academic Administration and other Professional Services. Collaborative working with colleagues, both academic and professional services, across the University is also going to be essential to the successful delivery of the programme

Proven experience of successfully delivering major projects in a complex environment using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques is essential for this role, as is a professional project management qualification. Previous experience of the Higher Education sector is not essential, but you must be able to demonstrate the ability effectively deliver change within a complex organisation.  You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels across an organisation and possess excellent people management skills.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Sara MacDonald  (s.l.macdonald@soton.ac.uk) on  023 8059 8744

Interviews will take place in the week commencing 21st November.

You should submit your completed online application form at www.jobs.soton.ac.uk. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above.
