General duties and responsibilities:
Handle the general management of cleaning staff and cleaning processes in appointed UFS accommodation categories.
Handle the administration and management of supplies and apparatus in appointed accommodation categories.
Report and follow up on maintenance requests in appointed accommodation categories.
Manage and perform tasks with regard to conferences at a basic level, where applicable. This entails the cleaning of rooms and making of beds in good time.
Complete time registers and leave application forms of cleaning staff.
Maintain good work discipline among cleaning staff by means of the appropriate corrective measures.
Carry out inspections to ensure a high standard of cleaning.
Perform any ad hoc tasks concerning the cleanliness and neatness of UFS residences.
Housekeeping duties and responsibilities:
Create a stock sheet indicating all the linen stock that is being controlled and maintain this stock sheet on a monthly basis.
Receive complaints and / or issues from reception in regards to Division C & D every morning and deal with these accordingly, as well as other complaints and / or related problems according to a list of reception.
Practical training of Housekeeping staff.
Continuous communication with reception on state of rooms for arrivals and special requests.
Assist with delivery and management of functions in the absence of hotel manager.
Manage reception desk in time of crises.
Assist with emergency purchasing or collecting of items from vendors.
Deal with customer complaints in the absence of hotel manager.
Inherent requirements:
Grade 12 with two (2) years’ relevant experience in general duties and responsibilities and / or two (2) years’ relevant experience in housekeeping duties and responsibilities.
A valid driving license.
Recommendations:
Knowledge of cleaning and hygiene system in general.
Two (2) years’ experience in the supervision of a colour code cleaning system within a building space.
Two (2) years’ experience in the management of cleaning products and apparatus, as prescribed by a colour code cleaning system.
