RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to render an effective service regarding asset and consumable supplies control and upkeep of stock levels and distribution thereof. This will include:

  • Managing consumables and assets;
  • Keeping a minimum number of units in storeroom;
  • Upkeep of the asset register;
  • Stock control and the reconciliation of stock;
  • Work related administration;
  • Handling ad hoc work related requests.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade12 certificate;
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management;
  • Valid code B licence;
  • Three years’ practical applied work related experience.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Physical mobility;
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office;
  • Competent in computerised inventory systems.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Tertiary qualification in Asset Management and Store Management;
  • Five years’ practical applied work related experience.

The total remuneration package for this position ranges from approximately R 397 288 to R 490 707 as determined by UP policy guidelines. (These amounts include the University’s contributions to standard UP benefits, namely provident fund, group life and funeral cover, but exclude contributions to medical aid, as the latter varies per employee.) UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
