Job Details

Job Purpose This particular project is jointly led by Prof’s Constanze Bonifer and Peter Cockerill funded by a programme grant from Bloodwise invesigates the basis of aberrant transcriptional programming of chromatin in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) as evidenced in a number of high profile publications (see Bonifer and Cockerill, Trends in Cancer, 2016; Cauchy et al., 2015, Cell Reports; Ptasinska et al,., 2014, Cell Reports; Piper et al., 2013, Nucleic Acids Research). The programme also investigates the properties of transcriptional networks driving normal and malignant differentiation within the human haematopoietic system. Such studies will be based on gene expression (RNA seq), ChIPSeq, and DNase (ATAC)-Seq data and will require data integration and mathematical modelling.
The multidisciplinay group generates a diversity of cutting-edge genomics data which requires expert analysis and requires dedicated bioinformatics support. The postholder will provide bioinformatics support to ensure that data received and generated by the laboratory is used in an efficient, standardised, secure and accurate manner using cuttingedge technologies and adhering to information governance standards.
