Job Purpose To create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within an established research programme and/or specific research project. Person Specification • Relevant First degree and PhD in area of biomedical/biological sciences
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of analytical and conceptual thinking
• Excellent scientific writing skills
• Experience of handling and processing human tissue samples/fluids with familiarisation of HTA guidelines and evidence of collaborative working with clinicians at NHS Trusts
• Experience of primary human cell isolation and culture including osteoblasts
• Experience of conducting cellular phenotypic assays relevant to bone biology, including mineralisation and alkaline phosphatase activity assays
• Experience of quantifying both mRNA expression (qRTPCR) and protein expression (Western blot, ELISA) expression
