Institute for Transport Studies
Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in programming? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
Working with the University of Leeds Driving Simulator development team, you will work on the Programme for Simulation Innovation (PSI) project, developing capabilities in advanced simulation to support the vehicle design process, thereby reducing the reliance on physical prototypes. You will assist in the realisation of a new implementation of the simulator’s underlying software, focussed more specifically on the experimental needs of PSI.
Focussing on the development of a more flexible, modularised architecture, the goal is to develop a coordinated evaluation tool that has the potential to support agile, cost-effective and efficient manufacturing processes in virtual vehicle design.
With a first degree (minimum 2:1) in Computer Science or relevant experience in a programming environment, you will also have a strong programming ability and experience of using C++ and Object Orientated Design as well as the C++ Standard Library (STL).
